The Mercer Legacy – Our History
Mercer Machine was founded in 1954 by Wayne Mercer. Wayne did not start out doing this as a full-time business, this was started as a hobby with one lathe in the basement of his house doing side jobs. As the business continued and the orders grew, Wayne was forced to take his hobby and turn it into a full-time career.
In 1954 Wayne purchased his first property on the South side of Indianapolis on Holt Road. The business continued to grow over the years as a second and third generation came in to help run the business.
